Exeter Field Hockey Strong, photography exhibit by Joe Perna, ends Saturday, June 25!

We have been so honored to have the work of Joe Perna at the gallery this month. We love it all. Thank you to the many visitors who came to the reception and to those who have stopped in to check it out. So many smiling faces ....and memories shared.

We have only one more week of the exhibit before it closes. If you know someone who played EFH in the past or have family and friends who would love to see these wonderful moments captured in time, please, share.

If you are a player (present or past) and want to take a memory home with you, the photos are also for sale. There is a guest book at the exhibit in which you can write a note and reserve a photo.

Thank you to Joe Perna Photography, coach Deb Grott, Tracy Phillips Photography, Live Free Print and Frame, and the coaches, players and their families.

About the exhibit:

A photography exhibit honoring the journey of creating a community.

How are bonds made? What defines a family? What creates purpose?

Take a journey through the lens of photographer Joseph Perna @joepphoto during the seven seasons of Exeter Girls Field Hockey @exeter.fieldhockey from 2015 through 2021. During this time he captured one chapter of the building of a "community" which is the Exeter High School Girls Field Hockey Team.

This journey is told through both black & white plus color photography highlighting the challenges, grit, happiness, wins, as well as the disappointments that also go hand-in-hand with growth in life.

Quotes from the athletes, both alumni as well as current players, are installed throughout the exhibit as hand-written messages swimming around the images, further solidifying the aspect of the "whole" versus the individual; a sense of community which began decades ago.

Exhibit June 2 - 25, Tuesday thru Saturday 11-5

Art Up Front Street Studios & Gallery 120 Front Street, Exeter, NH
